The Bagaduce Music Lending Library is celebrating its 25th birthday in 2008, It was established in 1983 with its first home in the garage of its founders on the coast of Maine, where the Bagaduce River meets Penobscot Bay. Soon outgrowing their original space, the library was moved to its present home in Blue Hill, Maine. Bagaduce Music Lending Library’s mission is
to collect, preserve and lend printed sheet music and scores, and to provide music education programs.

Bagaduce Music Lending Library has grown to become an international resource center for printed sheet music and scores, housing numerous collections of music representing all genres of written music except marching band music. Bagaduce Music Lending Library remains a non-profit organization funded through memberships, small lending fees, and private fundraising.
